Floridian Members of Congress Send Letter Opposing Reinsurance Tax

Six members of Florida's congressional delegation sent a letter to the House Committee on Ways and Means expressing their opposition to the proposed tax on foreign-based reinsurance.

"For Florida in particular, foreign based companies that sell reinsurance are a vital component to an already damaged property insurance market," the letter stated. "Removing foreign reinsurance from our property insurance market would leave Florida unable to rebuild in the event of another catastrophic hurricane season."

The full letter can be read here.
